Laura Ainsworth returns in her one-woman show, "My Ship Has Sailed", with pianist Brian Piper
Friday, November 3rd at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $15.00.
Reservations are suggested.

Already a staple at the Stone Street Theatre, most recently with Michael Gott in the revue, Cole Porter: Elegance and Decadence, Laura brings here popular one- woman comedy show to downtown Dallas.

"A Potential Cult Phenomenon!...A dynamite revue…Witty and discreetly naughty...A merciless spoof of modern America's fear of the aging process" by Laura Ainsworth, whose "Julie Andrews-style 'These Are the Things That the Taliban Banned,' which made the rounds in 2001, was one of the cleverest song parodies since the heyday of Tom Lehrer...Worth the trip from Ft. Worth to Dallas!"-- Perry Stewart, Ft. Worth Star-Telegram
"Side-Splitting!...One zinger after another… will have you laughing with recognition!” -- Park Cities People newspaper
"3-1/2 Stars! Laura Ainsworth has fashioned a sophisticated one-woman show, 'My Ship Has Sailed,' about growing older... Ainsworth's act is a hybrid, as she is a fine lounge singer with comic flair who delivers her songs in a beautiful, sultry voice with superb breath control. She tells the audience, 'If Weird Al Yankovic and Julie Andrews had a child, it would be me.'" -- Rita Faye Smith, TotalTheater.com

Late Night Cabaret with Gary Floyd and Band
The Squeak Wheel Tour
Friday, November 3rd at 11:00 p.m. Tickets are $10.00.
Reservations are suggested.

Gary Floyd, voted "Best Theatre Heartthrob" by the Dallas Observer, will be taking part in the Squeaky Wheel Tour. The Squeaky Wheel Tour is a nationwide promotion of: 19 Days...150 Events...100s of artists band together to gain attention for 100s of missing people worldwide...to bring ONE home.

Not only an accomplished musician, this Rabin award winning actor has been seen on stage in “King David” at Lyric Stage, “Aida” at Uptown Players, “Pump Boys and Dinettes” at Contemporary Theatre of Dallas and most recently “seen” in the ‘Full Monty” at Dallas’ Theatre Three.

"he's a natural" -Lawson Taitte, Dallas Morning News

"His smooth original ballads pound with soul and fire… with a singing style full of the stirring folk-pop qualities of James Taylor or Kenny Loggins." -Elaine Liner, Dallas Observer

“Accompanying himself on piano and armed with baby blues and a killer smile, Floyd sings with a catch in his voice that will catch you right in the heart.”-Dallas Observer-Best of Dallas 2006

Linda Leonard: Legends
Saturday, November 4th at 8:00 p.m.. Tickets are $15.00.
Reservations are suggested
.

Linda Leonard has dazzled audiences with her dancing and choreography, and wowed them as an actress and lifted them to new heights as a director. This award winning performer debuts her cabaret show “Legends’ at Stone Street this weekend.

Linda’s list of theatre and performing credits is varied and endless; actress/choreographer, “I Love You, Your Perfect, Now Change” at Theatre Three, director/choreographer, “Goodbye Girl” at Theatre Arlington, choreographer, “And the World Goes ‘Round” at Theatre Three, director “Annie Jr.” and “Les Miserable, School Edition” at Trinity River Arts Center, “Sailing to Byzantium” Echo Theatre Company, actress, Aurora in “Kiss of the Spiderwoman” at Uptown Players, and more. One the national scene she was in Hal Prince’s revival of “Showboat” has toured in “Cats”. Linda is a co-founder and artistic director of Tagline Music, “an independent record label who's purpose is to bring the many talented Cabaret artists to life on CD so that the world can share in our world of Cabaret music”, with cabaret artist Tom Grounds and musician Ricky Pope.
"Director Linda Leonard's production (Sailing to Byzantium) -- first-rate down to the details of accent, costume and coiffure …”-Perry Stewart, Fort Worth Star Telegram

“Linda Leonard earns major kudos for keeping the action constantly moving…Her choreography shows various genres of dance… jazz for one scene, and for another there is tap. "A Beat Behind," in which Leonard does a superb re-creation and homage to Hamlisch's A Chorus Line, is a highlight.”- John Garcia, TalkinBroadway.com

“And then there's the Spider Woman… played with sinewy arms and piercing eyes by the smoky-voiced Linda Leonard… wrapped in a revealing mesh dress, slithers across the prison bars like a black widow on a newly spun web, watch out. She's trouble.” - Elaine Liner, Dallas Observer

Singer/Songwriter: Ken Gaines
Saturday, November 4th at 11:00 p.m. Tickets are $10.00
.

Houston area singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer Ken Gaines has the goal of writing great songs in just about every genre and style. You won't be able to put a finger on what he does from sweet lyrical ballads, to double entendre blues, to swingin' jazz, and redneck rock. "For all of the great songs that have been written I belong to a wonderful group of people who believe there are at least as many great ones still to be written." His voice has the range to cover all of these styles and his supple guitar work lays down arrangements instead of just chords. His lyrics are both powerful and poetic and highlight his skills as a story teller and observer of life.

Onstage Ken is both into the songs and the moment. "Live performance for me is the culmination of all my thinking and practice. It's like a religious experience. I want you to laugh and cry on the same night and I hope you go home feeling like you've fallen in love all over again with someone or something you hold very dear".

Ken has two solo CD's and a live cassette to his credit. His latest, "Catfish Moon" 2006 on the
Songdog record label is a real taste of what it's like to hear Ken with Karen, Wayne, and co-producer Bill Ward with guest appearances by Gary Sapone, Jeff Duncan, & Ron Rebstock on several cuts. The previous CD, "Real Men", 2002, established Ken as a national act. He's also written and recorded songs for "The Silver Wolf Homeless Project" 1995, as well as the earlier "No One Else" live cassette released in 1991. And through the years he's worked on numerous other recording projects as well as a writer for stage and film projects notably the feature film, "Blue Days Lost" and two co-written children's musicals, "Noah and the Ark" and "Journey of the Wise Men" produced by the Excellent Theatre Company in Houston.

Since the fall of 1998 he has produced and hosted a songwriters' series at Houston's legendary Anderson Fair. These Thursday night productions have become a must for traveling artists from all over North America who are breaking into the Texas territory, as well as a way to hear many of Texas' singer/songwriters. “Talk about a great way to keep your edge as a performer. I love these shows!” says Ken. “Each night is a different mix and allows me to bring out a different aspect of my performance as well as the opportunity to interact with so many talented people.”

Finally, he's a regular around the Kerrville Folk Festival making sure his schedule allows him to spend the entire 18 days there interacting with fellow singer/songwriters both on stage and around the song circles. He's a proud member of MyTexasMusic.com where you can find his music and hundreds of other Texas artists.
